The Perfect Day
Vs 7 They go from strength to strength; each one
appears before God in Zion.
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the
just is like the shining sun that shines ever brighter into the perfect day.
Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait
upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like
eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
John 1:16 And of His fullness we
have all received, and grace for grace.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all,
with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being
transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of
the Lord.
We often talk of people living from paycheck to
paycheck. It seems like a cycle that
people cannot get out of. Just when it
seems there is light at the end of the tunnel, it seems the tunnel gets
longer. There is no way to get of the
tunnel until we do something different.
The reference in verse seven reminds me of that, except from
strength to strength in God means the opposite of what paycheck to paycheck
means. Paycheck to paycheck means a
treadmill, a rut, a barrier to managing finances or getting ahead financially.
Strength to strength, on the other hand, means as Proverbs
4:18 says, the sun shines brighter and brighter into the perfect day. Strength to strength brings us ever nearer,
ever closer to Him. It is a steadfast,
sure, step by step walk to Him, overcoming each barrier that is placed in front
of us.
What about John 1:16 and 2 Corinthians 3:18? Here we have grace to grace. Here we have transformation from glory to
glory.
Strength to strength, grace to grace, glory to glory! All of these lead to His fullness!
Trial to trial, victory to victory, day to day being
transformed!
What do we want, a paycheck to paycheck, drudgery to
drudgery life or a strength to strength, grace to grace, and glory to glory
walk with Him?
Once that is decided, the light will shine brighter!
Vs 8 O Lord God of
hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
Vs 9 O God, behold
our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed.
