Limits of Understanding of God

 

Look, God is great and we do not know all things about Him.  He has never had a beginning nor an ending.  Eternity goes backward and forward and is everlasting to everlasting.

We only know the parts of God that He allows us to know; but there are deeper parts He will show to us if only we let Him know we truly want to know Him.

We may not understand all there is to know about God, but He desires to show Himself to us in a greater way, to move back the clouds that surround Him and show Himself to us more clearly.

Even in His distance, we can learn of Him.  It is frightening to be separated from Him, but even in our fear of that, He has never and will never leave us.  

No, we cannot understand all of Him; there are limits to our understanding of God,  but we can know Him more intimately by reading His book and by spending quality time with Him in meditation and prayer.

God is God, we must take that as a given.  We are wasting time when we try to begin anyplace else.  God is God.  If we don't start there, where do we start?  We must know that He is God.  

If we don't start there, we would have to start with "Is there a God?"  What is there to build upon if we start on a search to find if there really is a God?"  If we found there is no God, how would that change us, how would that change our frame of reference.  There are those who say differently, but they cannot explain it to the point of belief.  No matter if our beginning was a big bang, somebody had to do the banging!  There is an intelligence behind the creation, a superpower beyond our understanding.

Our mind must be convinced that He is there in His fullness.  He shows us that by significantly changing our circumstances and through His mighty works.  There are things that happen as a result of prayer, things that happen even when you have not prayed about it and interventions that we know happen by a divine source.  

Yes, our understanding is limited, but He is not limited!  Here are a few scriptures that will help us hear what others have had to say about Him.

My Friend Jo-Ann

  November 28, 2023 1:26 pm   I just want to say I miss my friend Jo-Ann Carlton Blair, 1943-2020.  It hit me hard today about how much I do miss her.  I have called very few people friends in my lifetime, she was one of them. Jo-Ann never disappointed and never turned her back on me; she was straight forward, real, and direct with me. She and I did things together that did not include our husbands, like the time she booked us a five star hotel in Buckhead with a five course meal, then a limousine to our front row seats at the Fox Theater in Atlanta to see The Phantom of the Opera!
